  • Treatments are given to patients with lipid metabolism disorders, diabetes, thyroid disease, osteoporosis, pituitary diseases, including acromegaly, obesity, growth failure, Cushing's syndrome, and adrenal dysfunction.

As we live in an active and stressful society, our bodies’ endocrine functions and self-regulating system is overloaded with excessive amounts of information or even the lack of information. This can be called feedback. During these feedbacks, our bodies will remain in a constant homeostasis. If feedback functions are impaired, the representative organs such as the thyroid, pituitary, adrenal or gonadal, can be affected.

Thyroid disease can be classified as a severe disease depending on the shape of the thyroid gland. It can be either an overactive thyroid or an underactive thyroid. A rapid and accurate test can be done to determine the status of the thyroid, especially to prevent thyroid cancer.

Diabetes, is one of society’s major life style diseases which has increased a lot in the last few decades. It is always best and easy to prevent a disease such as diabetes with a healthy life style, but treatments are also readily available at this department.

The department of endocrinology and metabolism are committed to do research in order to enhance treatments for patients.
